Huddersfield Town Manager Lee Clark has won the League One Manager of the Month award for an historic third time this season following a successful April for the Club.

In doing so, Lee has joined Wigan boss Roberto Martinez in winning the accolade on three separate occasions in one single season; the Spaniard achieved it during the 2007/08 campaign at Swansea, whereas Clark has been given the title in November 2009 as well as February and April of this year.

"It is a real honour to receive the League One Manager of the Month award for April but as I have said before, the rest of the coaching staff and the players in particular deserve just as much credit for our recent form," Lee explained.

"The players have showed tremendous character to go on such a good run at this pressurised stage of the season and they fully deserve their place in the Play-Offs.

"Hopefully they can continue their good form for the final two games of the season to keep our momentum going, starting with Saturday's game against Colchester United."

Lee has led the side to five wins from just six games during April to secure the Club's place in the end of season Play-Offs. After starting the month with victories at relegation-threatened Wycombe Wanderers and at home to Oldham Athletic, Town were beaten at Brentford before bouncing back with a dramatic last-gasp victory over Walsall and an impressive 1-0 victory at home to Millwall in front of the Sky TV cameras.

The side capped off a terrific month with their comprehensive 6-0 hammering of relegated Stockport County at Edgeley Park last weekend - a game that set a new club record by featuring six separate scorers in an away League game.

Lee saw off the challenges of Southampton Manager Alan Pardew, Wycombe Wanderers boss Gary Waddock and Dave Penney of Oldham Athletic to win the April award.
