Town Captain Peter Clarke admitted that he is delighted the team took their opportunity to leap back into the Play-Off positions with three points at Wycombe on Saturday.
The former Everton and Southend man was his usual commanding self at centre-back alongside Neal Trotman during the 2-1 win at Adams Park, but explained to htafc.com that the game was no easy ride:
"It wasn't easy on Saturday," Peter told the Club's official website. "As we said before the game, there aren't many teams that have beaten Millwall twice this season but Wycombe have done that. They have fought hard to get results over the last couple of weeks and they got a good point at Colchester late last week, so we were well aware that it wasn't going to be an easy afternoon.
"We started well and going in front always helps. I think the way we started was key to things - it was something we had worked on. Maybe they got into it a bit more as the first-half progressed, but we started well again in the second-half."
Peter could be claiming an assist for Jordan Rhodes' opening goal on Saturday - it would appear that Michael Collins' shot hit the skipper before falling to the 21-goal striker - but he said that is not a big concern:
"I don't know about that! I don't care who assists or scores as long as we win games. It was a good passage of play because we were first to the ball when it dropped down in their box on three occasions and I thought that showed our commitment and determination. Ultimately we got the goal."
Although there are still seven games of the League One season to be played, Clarke acknowledged that it is a psychological boost to be back in the Play-Off positions.
"It's brilliant to be back in sixth position. We have perhaps had opportunities through the course of the season that maybe we haven't taken, but we were well aware of Colchester's result on the Friday night and what a win would mean to us."
Next up for Peter and his teammates is a tough derby clash with Oldham Athletic at the Galpharm Stadium on Tuesday evening; kick-off 7.45pm.
"It's a good foundation for Tuesday night's game. We will go into that and try to pick up where we've left off - we'll make sure we start the game well. It won't be easy though - if you look at the results on Friday and Saturday there were some very bizarre ones and that shows that no game at this stage of the season is easy.
"We'll be well prepared physically and mentally for everything that Oldham will throw our way. There are no Easter Eggs for us - we've had a recovery session on Sunday and we'll get some rest in for the remainder of the day!"
