Huddersfield Town is backing sport in the local community through the Huddersfield Examiner Community Awards for the second successive year.
The Club is once again sponsoring the 'Sports Team of the Year' award - an accolade that recognises the unsung sporting heroes in the local area.
All entries will be judged by a panel before winners are announced at a gala dinner and awards ceremony on Monday 7th June at the Galpharm Stadium.
Town backed the category for the first time last season, with Commercial Director Sean Jarvis presenting Honley Cricket Club Captain Robert Moore with the trophy following their domination of the Huddersfield cricket league and cup. Runners-up included Netherton Conservative Club bowling team and Heywood Irish Centre Football Club.
Sean told htafc.com how important it is that Town support the local community:
"Given Huddersfield Town's unique position within the community and pre-eminent place in sport, it is fitting that we are sponsoring this award again.
"Junior clubs of all sports play a key role in their local area in many ways, not least in helping to get young people active and participating in sport. Anything we can do to support that is worthwhile."
