BOOTHY: "IT'S A BIG GAME FOR BOTH CLUBS"

Posted on: Fri 12 Feb 2010

Town legend Andy Booth has told htafc.com that he cannot wait for Saturday's clash against promotion rivals Swindon and has urged the fans to raise the roof in the Galpharm Stadium.

"It's a big game for both clubs, as Swindon - just like us - are pushing for promotion to the Championship this season," Boothy explained to the Club's official website.

"Danny Wilson has done a great job down in Wiltshire, but that is no surprise to me as he was one of my old managers during my time at Sheffield Wednesday. He was always great with me and he likes his teams to play football, just as anyone who saw his Hartlepool team play would agree with. I like Danny a lot and I wish him every success for the rest of the season - after tomorrow!"

Having scored 150 goals for the Club during his playing career, Boothy always got a good reception from the Town faithful and he thinks that the support from the stands can make a real difference against the Robins.

"The support I received from the stands always meant a massive amount and I know the current squad of players feel exactly the same way. I always feel an immense amount of pride at the great numbers we have following the team and I know the fans will really get behind the lads this weekend. It really can make that little bit of difference that might turn a draw into a win."
