AGEING SOFTWARE PROVIDES SHOCK FOR SIMPSON
The harsh reality of swapping football for fags made a lasting impression on Huddersfield Town star Robbie Simpson after he tried special ageing software that offered a shock insight into his potential future self.
Robbie, 24, was able to see himself as a regular smoker aged 60 using the high-tech kit - and the results were startling.
The striker used the software to pledge his support for Kirklees NHS Stop Smoking Service, which provides a range of free support services for smokers across Huddersfield, Dewsbury, Batley and the wider Spen valley.
"I look terrible!" he concluded. "It's a real shock to the system. I've always been a non-smoker, but seeing how I might look 30 years from now makes me more determined than ever not to start."
The technology showed how he might look as a both a non and regular smoker in years to come, with real differences between the two.
He added: "I'm pretty pleased with how I might look as a non-smoker as the years go by. That's the person I want my kids and grandkids to see if I have a family, not the withered old smoker with loads of wrinkles and a gaunt appearance."

Smokers are four times more likely to quit with specialist NHS support, and hopes others, Terriers fans or otherwise, will follow his lead in discovering the benefits of a smoke-free future.
Kirklees Stop Smoking Service is using the ageing software at regular group meetings, which are open to anyone who is thinking about stopping smoking. To find out more contact the team on 01484 344 285 (Huddersfield) or 01924 351 498 (Dewsbury, Batley, Spen).
