LIONEL EXTENDS BRENTFORD LOAN

Posted on: Mon 01 Feb 2010

Town winger Lionel Ainsworth has today extended his loan at League One side Brentford for the rest of the 2009/10 season.

The Nottingham-born 22-year old originally joined Andy Scott's side on a one month loan last week, but is still awaiting his Bees debut after their game at Oldham Athletic was postponed due to a frozen pitch this weekend.

Lionel will not be permitted to play for Brentford against Town when we make the trip to Griffin Park on April 10th.

"Lionel needs to be playing first-team football at a good level and the move suits both parties," Town manager Lee Clark explained to htafc.com. "His move echoes Nathan Eccleston's in that the intention was always to make the move season-long, but we needed to get the paperwork through to make him eligible for the weekend."
