CLARK COMMENTS ON EASTWOOD'S RETURN
Manager Lee Clark has today explained that bringing young goalkeeper Simon Eastwood back to Town following his six month loan at Bradford City is the right decision both for the player and the Club.
The 20-year old Academy graduate played 28 games for the Bantams during the first half of the 2009/10 season, but Lee decided the time is right to bring him back to the Galpharm Stadium to continue his development.
"I've seen a few quotes over the last few days regarding Simon, but I made the decision to bring him back here," Lee told htafc.com. "I decided that I wanted Simon to come back and work with John Vaughan on a daily basis, who does a magnificent job with the goalkeepers.
"Simon played a lot of games at Bradford and had some good and bad experiences. He had to handle a bit of criticism, but he has also had some plaudits and we will see the benefit of him playing first team football at a Club that gets good crowds and has a bit of expectation surrounding it. We've got what we wanted out of the loan, but it was time for Simon to come back."
Lee also explained that he expects either Simon or fellow custodian Matt Glennon to leave the Club on another loan during the January transfer window.
"We will look at the situation over January regarding Simon and Matt and decide which one of them will go out on loan or leave the Club. We will look at the different options for each player and see what the best is for us and the lads as well. One will go out in the January window, because they are too good to not even be on the bench."
