TOWN'S TEAM vs. NORWICH

Posted on: Sat 19 Dec 2009

Town manager Lee Clark has made two changes to the starting eleven for today's League One game against Norwich City at Carrow Road, kick-off 3pm.

Winger Anthony Pilkington missed last weekend's victory over Gillingham through suspension, but has come straight back into the side following his one match ban; he replaces Lionel Ainsworth, who drops to the bench.

However, Antony Kay is suspended for today's fixture after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season last Saturday. His place is taken by Jim Goodwin, who is making his first start since the Johnstone's Paint Trophy game at Chesterfield in early October.

Town will line up in a 4-4-2 formation for the game, with 'keeper Alex Smithies - who is making his 50th League start for the Club today - protected by a back four of Joe Skarz, skipper Peter Clarke, Nathan Clarke and right-back Lee Peltier. Gary Roberts and Pilkington occupy the left and right wings respectively either side of Goodwin and central midfield partner Michael Collins, leaving in-form strikers Lee Novak and Jordan Rhodes to lead the line.

Midfielders Tom Clarke and Danny Drinkwater make welcome returns to the substitutes' bench this afternoon after absences through injury.
