Huddersfield Town has today secured the services of reigning Player of the Year Gary Roberts to a new long-term deal.
The 25-year old winger has signed a new three year deal that will see him stay at the Club until the summer of 2012 following a fantastic debut season in the blue and white stripes, in which he netted 11 goals to finish as top scorer.

Manager Lee Clark today commented on Roberts' extension:
"Gary was rightly named as our Player of the Year last season as he was terrific for us when we came in," Lee explained. "He made an invaluable contribution in terms of the goals he scored and we are absolutely delighted that he has decided to stay with us by extending his contract.
"There is still more to come from Gary too. Regardless of your age you should always be looking to improve and the good thing about Gary is that he trains well and he wants to improve - sometimes we have to drag him off the training pitch to save his energy!
"To have players of Gary's quality committing their future to the Club is a great sign for us. Along with Michael Collins' extension at the back-end of last week and the new signings we have brought in, I am very happy that Gary has signed a new deal - it is a very exciting time for the Club.
"Players seem to be buying into what we are trying to do and are enjoying their football here. The players have come back for pre-season and are showing tremendous attitude and great application."
Roberts' previous contract at Huddersfield Town was due to run until the summer of 2010.
