LOAN WATCH - STRIKER NOVAK SCOOPS AWARDS

Posted on: Wed 29 Apr 2009

20-year old Huddersfield Town striker Lee Novak has won the prestigious Blue Square North Division Golden Boot award after notching an impressive 27 goals for loan club Gateshead this season.

The former Gretna forward has also been awarded with Gateshead's Player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year and Manager's Player of the Year accolades after a successful season at the International Stadium.

Novak's 27-goal haul is all the more impressive when you note that he joined Gateshead from non-league minnows Newcastle Blue Star with ten games already gone in the Blue Square North season.

Lee's time at Gateshead is not yet at an end - he will feature for the Tynesiders in their Blue Square North Play-Off semi-finals with Southport in the near future.

Meanwhile, fellow Town loanee Phil Jevons will stay at League Two side Bury for an extra seven days and will be eligible for their final game of the season at home to Accrington Stanley on Saturday afternoon. The Shakers could still gain promotion to League One automatically and are already certain of a spot in the Play-Offs at the very least.

The 29-year old former Everton forward has netted once in six appearances for Bury thus far.
