TOWN'S TEAM vs. SCUNTHORPE UTD

Posted on: Fri 10 Apr 2009

Fit-again Robbie Williams (pictured) comes back into the starting eleven for tonight's League One clash at promotion-chasing Scunthorpe United, kick-off 7.45pm.

The former Barnsley man has recovered from the groin problem that has kept him out of Town's last two games and replaces Lionel Ainsworth in the starting eleven this evening, with manager Lee Clark shuffling his pack slightly.

Town look set to line up in the 4-5-1 formation that served them so well during their recent away win at Bristol Rovers, with England under-19 'keeper Alex Smithies protected by a back four of Williams, former Scunthorpe man Andy Butler, Nathan Clarke and Liverpool loanee Martin Kelly. Tom Clarke will partner another former Iron, Jim Goodwin, in central midfield behind the more advanced Michael Collins, with wingers Gary Roberts and Anthony Pilkington tasked with supporting Danny Cadamarteri in attack.

Tonight's game will be extra special for midfielder Goodwin - not only is he facing his former Club, but he is making the 250th appearance of his professional career.

Clark has some strong options to call upon from the substitutes' bench; custodian Simon Eastwood is joined by Andy Holdsworth, Michael Flynn, James Berrett and the legendary Andy Booth.
