Town boss Lee Clark has secured the future of talented young goalkeeper Simon Eastwood to the Club until the summer of 2011, with the Club having an option of a further season.
The 19-year old custodian graduated from Town's Academy in 2007 and is yet to make his first-team debut. A former England under-19 international, he gained first-team experience through a fourteen-game loan spell at Blue Square Premier side Woking recently and has impressed in the reserves for the Terriers throughout this term.
Manager Clark told htafc.com that Simon has great potential:
"We kept an eye on Simon during his loan spell at Woking and he did very well," Lee explained. "It is good to have him back here alongside Alex Smithies and I believe he has real potential that can be developed here at Huddersfield Town.
"We are in a lucky position at the Club not only having two young and talented goalkeepers in Alex and Simon, but also having Matt Glennon here; he has been a big help and a consummate professional since my arrival.
"It is now up to Simon to push Alex as hard as possible for the first-team shirt."
