Defender Robbie Williams has hailed Town's magnificent travelling support following the news that the allocation for this weekend's trip to Stockport County sold out earlier today.
Almost 2,000 Town fans will make the trip to Edgeley Park on Saturday for the League One clash against the Hatters and Williams told htafc.com that the team are hoping to repay the fans for their tremendous support of the team by bringing the three points back to West Yorkshire.
"You do notice the support at away games, without a doubt," the Pontefract-born left-back explained. "In the warm-up at Crewe all the fans were already in the Stadium cheering us and when I first joined the Club it wasn't always like that, as we were stuck in mid-table. The fans have been great for us this season - especially at home.
"However, we need to start picking up results away from home. The fans are playing their part by getting behind us and now we need to push on.
"It's a massive game on Saturday. We know we can beat them, as we can beat anyone on our day and everyone here is confident that we can go there and get the right result. We need to take three points off the teams around us and hopefully we will get it right at the weekend. The upcoming games against Stockport, Colchester and Millwall are all important."
Williams is arguably in the best form of his Town career at the moment, keeping Joe Skarz and Dominik Werling out of the side thanks to a string of accomplished performances in recent weeks.
"I've got a decent run of games under my belt now, which has made all the difference to me. When I first joined the Club I wasn't the fittest because I had just suffered a broken leg but I have taken my chance and I hope the new Gaffer knows I can do a job for him. If I'm fit I should always perform to the best of my ability, which I think I am doing at the moment.
"There is plenty of healthy competition too - Joe is a good player and Dom has come in and is challenging for a place, so I am just going out onto the pitch and aiming to keep the shirt by performing the best I possibly can."
