TOWN'S TEAM vs. CREWE ALEXANDRA

Posted on: Sat 21 Feb 2009

Town boss Lee Clark has brought James Berrett into the starting eleven for today's game at Crewe Alexandra, kick-off 3pm.

The Republic of Ireland under-21 international starts his first game since the Boxing Day defeat at Carlisle, replacing Anthony Pilkington in the starting eleven. 'Pilks' drops out of the matchday sixteen completely through illness.

This could see Berrett occupy the vacant left wing position as part of a standard 4-4-2, or alternatively Gary Roberts could play there with Berrett alongside Jim Goodwin in central midfield and Michael Collins just off Lukas Jutkiewicz in attack. Lionel Ainsworth completes the starting eleven and seems certain to start on the right wing.

What is certain is that 'keeper Alex Smithies will be protected by a back four of Robbie Williams, Andy Butler, Nathan Clarke and skipper Andy Holdsworth.

Legendary striker Andy Booth makes a welcome return to the bench having come through an hour of Town's midweek reserve game at Rotherham; he replaces German Dominik Werling amongst the substitutes.
