GLENNON FACING KNEE OPERATION

Posted on: Sat 21 Feb 2009

Town shot-stopper Matt Glennon is set for a spell on the sidelines after manager Lee Clark revealed he will have an operation on a knee problem.

The 30-year old former Carlisle and Bolton Wanderers custodian has recently been displaced from the first team by Alex Smithies and with fellow 'keeper Simon Eastwood set to return from a loan spell at Woking on February 26th, Clark told htafc.com that now is the perfect time for Matt to have his problem looked at.

"Matt will be going into hospital on Monday for an operation, which could potentially keep him out for the rest of the season. He is a terrific professional and has been training every day and sitting on the bench, but he has a problem with his knee where it meets the thigh muscle and he needs to sort it out.

"Simon Eastwood played his last game for Woking today and he will be coming back and we will take it from there."
