Huddersfield Town Chairman-elect Dean Hoyle has today praised the support that the fans gave to new manager Lee Clark and his team during the weekend victory over Hereford and urged supporters to become the '12th man' at Carlisle on Boxing Day!

"I have been coming to watch Town for many years and I cannot recall a manager receiving a reception like that from the fans for many years - it was fantastic," Hoyle explained to htafc.com.

"I think that having fans in the Pink Link Stand is a fantastic incentive, although it is strange that we have not scored in that end while our fans have been there yet! I know that will come though and I do think it makes a huge difference to the atmosphere in the ground - I thought it was the best it has been this season at the weekend. Unfortunately, we are limited in how many times we can have our own fans in that end of the ground, but I'd like to thank the fans who have supported us from there recently.

"Now it's down to business though - it is down to what happens on the pitch and at the Club. You could say that the honeymoon period is over and it is down to us to try and build the Club in order to move forward."

Clark takes his side up to Brunton Park on Boxing Day - a place where Town have not won a game for 24 years.

"I was at Carlisle for our last victory there in 1984 and it is a tough place to go, so I would urge as many fans as possible to go up there and get behind the team. It would be fantastic to have 1,500 Town fans in the stands at Brunton Park on Boxing Day.

"I've heard the fans chanting 'Lee Clark's Barmy Army' at the last couple of games and that is exactly what we need to be - full of passion and noise to drive the team on. I would love the fans to make a real impact at Carlisle this week - really raise the roof at Brunton Park! A win at Carlisle would be a massive achievement.

"I know it is a long journey, but I am expecting us to travel up there in large numbers and so I would encourage fans to buy their tickets in advance from the Galpharm Ticket Office, which is open until 12pm on Christmas Eve. By doing so, you can save yourself a couple of quid!

"The Carlisle game will be tough, but our upcoming home games against Scunthorpe and Oldham will be a chance to test ourselves against two sides that have been near the top of the League for most of this season. It will be a good gauge of where we are and I would encourage all of our fans to come to the games."
