CLARK IMPRESSED BY SOUTHEND WIN

Posted on: Mon 15 Dec 2008

New Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark told htafc.com he is delighted with what he saw during the weekend win at Southend United.

The 36-year old took charge of his first training session at Storthes Hall today and explained that the players have 'carried on where they left off' at the weekend.

"I was very impressed," Lee said of the 1-0 win at Roots Hall. "I thought the work ethic and the way they tried to play football were excellent and I've just remarked to the staff that it's not often that you get a chance to take over a team full of confidence - usually when a new manager comes in, they are not getting results and confidence will be low. I'm really pleased with what I have seen.

"I liked the way we got the ball down and passed it and I liked their attitude - they seemed to play for each other, not as individuals. It was a perfect away performance really."

"They did very well in training today too; they did everything I asked of them, pretty much carrying on where they left off on Saturday. I also have to say that the lads who weren't involved on Saturday have given their all today as well."
