Huddersfield Town has today announced the appointed Nigel Clibbens as the new Chief Executive on the Board of Directors.

Wakefield-born Nigel, 40, fills the Chief Executive role at the Club which was vacated when Andrew Watson switched from Chief Exec to Vice Chairman in 2006.

An accountant by profession, Nigel spent ten years at PricewaterhouseCoopers working in insolvency before joining Grant Thornton in 1999. In the last nine years Nigel has specialized in the financial restructuring and reorganization of businesses, helping to develop and implement strategy and improve their viability.

He has a broad experience working in many industries and sectors of business including many football clubs.

Nigel is already a familiar face at the Galpharm Stadium in recent months - as part of his work with Grant Thornton he assisted Town's Chairman-elect Dean Hoyle when he made his initial investment. He has subsequently assisted the Club, working very closely with the Chairman-Elect during the last six months.

Nigel will be take a more active role immediately ahead of joining the Club on a full time basis and will play a key part in driving the Club forward on a day to day basis.

"Huddersfield Town is always talked about as a Club with potential and under the new ownership of Dean Hoyle there is a great opportunity to turn that potential into reality, but this will take time.The Club has a solid foundation and will have a clear and strong direction, a way of getting there and the right people working together to make it happen," Nigel explained to htafc.com.

"I have already seen at firsthand what a great Club this is, where many people work together and strive to do their best; how passionate Town fans are and how a successful Club can benefit the wider Huddersfield area and community.

Chairman-elect Dean Hoyle explained the appointment to htafc.com:

"I have worked with Nigel over the past few months and we both share the same view of what kind of Club we want Huddersfield Town to be. We have our own set of 'Golden Rules' of how the football club will be run and we will stick to them in order to achieve our goals."

Town Chairman Ken Davy welcomed Nigel to the Club:
