DICKO: "IT'S A HUGE GAME FOR THE PLAYERS"

Posted on: Wed 12 Nov 2008

Liam Dickinson has told htafc.com that he would love to end his spell at Town by helping the side to victory over Leeds United at Elland Road this weekend.

The Derby County loanee will return to his parent club following the conclusion of his three month stay at Town after Saturday's game and admitted that helping the side to a win over our West Yorkshire rivals would be an ideal way to sign off.

"I've been looking forward to this game ever since I extended my loan spell for a third and final month and I found out I could play! It should be a great game to play in and I just hope I'm selected," the 23-year old explained.

"I've played in a few derby games during my time at Stockport, but I don't think any of them will compare to the atmosphere at Elland Road on Saturday. I know that it's a massive game for the fans and it's a huge game for the players too. I'd love to end my spell at the Club with a win there."

Dickinson has netted six goals in thirteen appearances for the Terriers and explained that his time at the Galpharm Stadium has more than served its purpose.

"I've really enjoyed my time at the Club. They are a great bunch of lads here and they have made me feel really welcome.

"I moved to Derby in the summer but didn't have a brilliant pre-season, so my aim was to come here and get my confidence back. I've done just that, as I've scored a few goals and the loan spell has definitely benefitted me.

"I'll always keep my options open and I'd welcome a move back here in the future. You never know what may happen!"
