Town skipper Chris Lucketti has set his sights on returning from injury ahead of this weekend's tough League One test against Leicester City at the Galpharm Stadium, but admits he may have to wait for his chance to break back into the side.

The influential 37-year old has missed the last two games with a groin strain and in his absence, centre-backs Nathan Clarke and Andy Butler have impressed.

"I've had a straight forward groin strain, so the aim was to rejoin training late this week and to try and be available for the Leicester game," Chris explained. "It's always frustrating to be on the sidelines, but there is nothing you can do about it; I've just been focussing on getting fit."

Town fans were impressed with the manner in which the Clarke and Butler partnership nullified the threat of dangerous striker Lee Hughes at Oldham Athletic last weekend - and Lucketti is no different.

"They are both cracking lads," he said of his teammates. "I went to watch the game over at Oldham last weekend and I thought they were both superb; all the team played well but I thought that in particular, Clarkey and Butty were outstanding."

Given that admission, the former Bury man is more than willing to wait for his chance once he has regained full fitness.

"The thing is that they have both played well and they deserve to stay in the side. When you get the shirt and you play well, I think you deserve to stay in the side and everybody else has to wait for the opportunity to get back in. If you do get back in, it's then up to you to keep the shirt. At the end of the day it's the team and the Club that matter - not the individuals."

This weekend's visitors Leicester City will provide Lucketti and co with a stern test of their promotion credentials. Having been relegated from the Championship last term, the Foxes are among the fancied teams in League One this season.

"Leicester are a big club and they have a quality squad," Rochdale-born Lucketti admitted. "I know the manager, Nigel Pearson, well having played under him at Southampton last season and he'll have them well organised - he's a good coach and a good manager. They will be up for it and it'll be a tough game but we are more than capable of gaining all three points."

There is a full interview with Lucketti about the clash with the Foxes and about how he is settling into his second spell as a Town player in this weekend's 80-page matchday programme, which will also feature in-depth interviews with Huddersfield and Leicester legends Frank Worthington and Iwan Roberts - all for just £3!
