htafc.com talked to Town custodian Matt Glennon ahead of this Saturday's game at Cheltenham and he made it clear that he expects Town to break their winning duck.

The former Bolton Wanderers trainee has been an ever-present so far this campaign and thinks that despite not recording a win thus far, there have been positives to take out of the team's performances this season.

He explained: "We started the season against Stockport and got a good point there but we've not played as well as we should have done. We beat Bradford well and got a good point at Colchester, who are a good side like Stockport who have just come up. So from the first three games, we haven't got as many points as we'd like but it was three decent performances and we've had a couple now where we've been indifferent but we'll keep going. We always do and we will get through it. Cheltenham on Saturday - that's where we're going to start, get our three points and get off the mark."

Matt has had to get used to some new defensive colleagues this season, but he was adamant that this was not a problem.

"It's not the first club I've been to and at a new club there are always new players to get used to. The manager has brought in some experienced, good players who are good lads so for me it's just getting used to everyone again.

"We've got Andy (Holdsworth), Chris Lucketti, Unsy (David Unsworth) and now Nathan is back in now so it's ever changing faces, but you've just got to get on with it. I'll keep doing my job; we'll all do our jobs and hopefully win some games."

Town's squad has always been a predominantly young once since Glennon's arrival at the Galpharm Stadium in the summer of 2006 and he admitted that having such experienced players around him is a help.

"Unsworth and Lucketti have played at the top level. Unsy has got an England cap so he has played with some of the best goalkeepers in the country - in the world even - so he talks to me but also I bring something to the game as well. I'm experienced too - I'm not a spring chicken! It's good to have experienced people in to compliment the young lads, as everyone has their own ideas and what we try to do is put them altogether and try and get some good out of it."

This weekend's opponents, Cheltenham Town, may give a debut to former Yeovil and Sheffield Wednesday target man Lloyd Owusu on Saturday but the Town shot-stopper was confident that the Terriers would be able to deal with the threat he poses.

"We've played Sheffield United, who had big lads and to be fair 'Skip' and Clarkey and even when Butts was in there, there's not been many big headers won against us. That's one thing we have got: a big physical presence, so if I don't get it hopefully one of the other two will anyway. So Lloyd (Owusu) is a big lad but we'll get through."
