New loan signing Liam Dickinson cannot wait to get his Huddersfield Town career up and running.

The 22-year old striker joined the Club on a month's loan from Derby County earlier today and told htafc.com he is looking forward to pulling on the famous Blue and White stripes as soon as possible.

Liam's move came around quickly, as he explained:

"I got pulled into the office yesterday, but I think the move had been going on for a couple of days. I've not been involved at Derby and the Gaffer (Paul Jewell) thought it would be best if I went out on loan to get some games under my belt, get some confidence and hopefully score some goals.

"Paul has brought a lot of new players in - I think about 13 in total - and I've made a big jump up from Stockport in League Two, so I have a lot to learn yet. I've signed a three year deal at Derby and I'm hoping to feature for them at some point this season.

"I'm here to help Huddersfield with their start to the season. It's still a jump up for me and I think another couple of clubs in the division wanted me too, but the Gaffer explained that he felt Huddersfield was the best choice for me. It's a great setup here with a great bunch of fans and a great Stadium; I can't wait to start playing football.

"I don't know any of the lads here previously, but I am aware of Ian Craney as I scored a couple against Accrington last season! I've trained with them for the first time today and there seems to be a lot of banter going around, so I should fit in!

"I know last season was a bit of a disappointment for the Club but I've spoken to the Gaffer here and he wants to turn it around and win the League, as well as to go far in the Cups. There is a positive vibe here."

The former Blackburn trainee shot to fame last season after being plucked from the non-league scene by Stockport County, scoring 21 goals as his side won promotion from League Two.

"Last season at Stockport was brilliant for me - I played and scored at Wembley and that week was the best one of my life, as I went straight on holiday after the game! Now I just want to carry on where I left off, as I scored 21 goals there. I'm setting targets all the time and I just want to score some early goals to get my confidence back."

Liam will take the number 29 shirt at the Club.
