Huddersfield Town have today signed striker Liam Dickinson from Derby County on a month's loan.

The 22-year-old 6ft 4in target man joined the Rams this summer from Stockport County for £750,000 after starting his career as a trainee at Blackburn Rovers.

After a time in non-League, he impressed whilst on trial at Edgley Park in November 2005 and went on to sign in the next month for £2,000.

He netted 21 times from 37 starts last season as Stockport were promoted through Play-Offs before joining Derby on July 1 2008 for £750,000 which could eventually rise to £1 million on appearances. He was the ninth summer capture of Paul Jewell, who Ternent was assistant to at Pride Park.

As well as being tall, he is athletic, right-footed and has good strength. He can work with his back to goal, is good in the air and has good pace and movement.
