TOWN TAKE ON ANOTHER TRIALIST

Posted on: Tue 29 Jul 2008

Town boss Stan Ternent made his sixth signing this morning in winger Gary Roberts and he also revealed to htafc.com that he is still looking at several trialists.

Midfielder Tony Grant and goalkeeper Paul Gerrard are still on trial at the Club, but the Gaffer also revealed that they will be joined by a third player this morning.

"I haven't made a decision on the two trialists yet, but I'll have some more in this week," Ternent explained. "David Unsworth is joining us on Tuesday, who is a left-back or left-sided central defender.

The 34-year old former England international rejected a player-coach role at Burnley at the conclusion of last season and is currently a free agent.

"If I feel he can help us get where we need to be I will do something with him, but I need to see him in action. I know he is a fantastic lad and has been an extremely good player; I'm hoping he still is."

The Town boss also explained that he has arranged a behind closed doors friendly against League Two Accrington Stanley for tomorrow.

"The lads are doing alright - they've done some yardage again today. We've arranged a closed-doors match for Wednesday morning which will either be two 45 minute halves or three of 30, which will be another good workout - especially if the weather echoes Monday!"
