SOUND SYSTEM REVIEW IN PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES

Posted on: Mon 14 Jul 2008

Following a number of comments and complaints regarding the sound system at the Galpharm Stadium, Huddersfield Town are currently working on a solution ahead of the 2008/09 season.

Working alongside Stadium Company KSDL, the Club are bringing in experts Allansound Communications of Leeds at both the Sheffield United and Arsenal friendlies in early August to resolve the sound quality issues.

Last week, technicians from Allansound came to the Galpharm Stadium for an overview of the problems with the sound system at the Stadium, but the acoustics of the Galpharm change with a crowd present and so they will be present at the two home pre-season friendlies to try and set the optimum sound levels.

Town's Director of Business Development Sean Jarvis talked to htafc.com about the process.

"Having consulted Allansound last week, it would appear our problem is to do with the speaker coverage in the stands," explained Sean.

"The speakers are aiming towards the front of the stand, so most of the complaints are coming from the back where the sound is too quiet; then if we increase the volume, it distorts at the front and the complaints originate from there.

"As a result, we are going to try and find the best levels for the current speakers and then evaluate the best course of action. Our aim is to resolve the problems in time for the opening day game against Stockport on August 9th."
