STAN: "IT'LL BE TOUGH, BUT ENJOYABLE"
Stan Ternent is promising Town's playing squad a "tough but enjoyable" pre-season ahead of tomorrow's first session of the 08/09 campaign.
The squad numbers were released this morning and the Gaffer told htafc.com that he is looking at more signings.
"I'm pleased with the players I've already brought in because they give us good competition," said Ternent, who is today supporting Gerry Murphy's testimonial golf day.
"Keigan and Jim give us options and Andy Butler is strong, left-sided and gives us a bit of balance.
"We got him despite a fair bit of competition, so I'm pleased, and I've still got some irons in the fire on other players we might bring in."
Stan also outlined the basis of the training sessions for the next few weeks.
"We are planning three sessions a day and they will be straight back into it tomorrow," confirmed Ternent.
"Myself, Ronnie (Jepson) and Mick (Docherty) will be fully involved and we've got all the sessions planned out.
"It will be tough, of course it will because it's important we reach the right levels, but we will also have the balls out and it will be enjoyable as we build towards the season.
"Lads these days look after themselves well, so I'm sure they'll be ready, and we'll be looking to get them fit and organised."
