The Irish have recorded one win, one draw and one defeat in the group stage of the competition and now face the Aussies in a 2pm kick-off on Friday, with the winners advancing to the final of the competition.

Collins and Berrett have started two of the three group games, playing all 90 minutes of the 3-1 victory over hosts Malaysia - Mickey grabbing a brace in that game - and of the 0-0 draw with Iraq. Both players were rested during the 3-1 defeat to tournament favourites Nigeria, but Collins was introduced as a 58th minute substitute.

Both players will be hoping to make the starting eleven for the big semi-final tomorrow and Michael told www.fai.ie - the official Football Association of Ireland website - that he is relishing the challenge that the Australians will offer.

"The game against Australia will be a great test because they have shown themselves to be the quality side in this tournament," said Collins, who declared for Ireland through his Limerick grandparents.

"If we were to beat them then confidence would be sky high and who knows from there?"

"Winning this tournament would be my greatest achievement in football, winning with Ireland at this level would be a massive feather in my cap."
