COLLINS SUMMONED TO IRELAND U-21s
Town midfielder Michael Collins has been selected for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 Squad for the forthcoming Intercontinental Cup, taking place in Malaysia from May 12th to May 25th.
Emerging young star James Berrett, 19, has been placed on standby for the 20-man squad and will be summoned if two players drop out. He is a regular in the Ireland Under-19 team but has not been capped at this level before.
Michael, who turns 22 on Wednesday, already has two caps at this level but will be hoping that manager Don Givens selects him in one of their games. The Irish start off with three group games - against Iraq on May 15th, Malaysia on May 17th and finally Nigeria on May 19th. They will then progress to the semi-final if they finish in the top two of their group.
