A MESSAGE FROM THE SAFETY OFFICER
The Galpharm Stadium Safety Officer, John Robinson, has asked htafc.com to convey this message to the Town supporters ahead of tonight's local derby against Leeds United at the Galpharm Stadium, kick-off 7.45pm.
"Please be aware that due to the potential risk of public disorder, our usual post match strategies have had to be amended to ensure the safety of both home and away supporters. If you normally exit the Stadium site via St Andrew's Road, you are advised, on this occasion, to exit via the North End or remain in the seated area after the final whistle until the risk has subsided. This could take half an hour or so. We will, of course, use the public address system to inform you of when it is safe to use the South end exits.
"If you park your vehicle on either of the car parks at the South End, again there will be an extended delay before you are allowed to leave. You will not be allowed to move until authorized to do so by the Police Commander at the ground and myself.
"We appreciate these arrangements may cause some inconvenience to some of our fans but we would ask you to bear with us as we try to ensure you are able to enter and leave the Stadium site as safely and quickly as possible.
"May I also take this opportunity to remind you that entering onto the playing area at any time while the game is in play, or indeed before or afterwards, is a criminal offence. Please do not be tempted to 'come trackside' for any reason as to do so will result in Police action being taken against you.
"Finally, the stewards are here to help you at all times when you are in the Stadium. Please don't hesitate to contact any of them if you need any help or assistance whilst you are here with us.
"We hope you enjoy what promises to be an exciting game and you appreciate that the arrangements made for this match are there to make the event as safe as we can make it.
"Thank you for your understanding and support."
