30-year old midfielder and former Town loanee Ronnie Wallwork has joined Championship side Sheffield Wednesday until the end of the season.
Manager Andy Ritchie had been trying to bring the West Bromwich Albion midfielder to the Club after the midfielder's loan spell at the Galpharm Stadium expired, but Wallwork has today joined the Owls until the conclusion of the 2007/08 season after agreeing a release from the Baggies.
A pragmatic Ritchie talked to htafc.com about missing out on Wallwork.
"Going into tomorrow's game, it's not massively relevant to us as we have quite a lot of options in midfield. If we could have done something with Ronnie that would have been fine, but in the end it came down to what we wanted to do and what West Brom had in mind as a fee."
However, Ritchie was keen to stress that he has several other targets that he is continuing to chase - although he was understandably unwilling to disclose any names!
"We're looking at one or two different options at the minute, which I will continue to work on."
With eleven days of the January transfer window behind us, Ritchie also reported that no bids have been received for any Town players.
"I've heard a load of rumours, but there have been no offers for any of our players as of yet. Until somebody comes in and offers us something, I will continue to ignore them and carry on as normal."
Tomorrow's game against Gillingham at the Galpharm Stadium is only £5 in for all age groups - bring your family and pay at the turnstiles for the 3pm kick-off!
