JEVONS LOAN EXTENDED
Huddersfield Town have today extended the loan of Bristol City striker Phil Jevons for a further month.
The striker's initial month's loan ended on December 22nd following Town's impressive 2-0 win at Cheltenham - a game that Jevons featured in.
However, Andy Ritchie has acted quickly this morning to secure the services of the former Everton and Yeovil goalscorer until January 19th inclusive.
Since joining the Terriers shortly before the close of the November loan transfer window, 'Jevo' has scored three goals in only four starts.
htafc.com caught up with a pleased Ritchie today to talk about the loan extension.
"I'm very pleased - we desperately need him here over the Christmas period to give us another option up front. It's great that we have him here on loan and hopefully we can do something more permanent when the transfer window re-opens.
"He's done very well for us so far and once he gets fully match-fit, he'll get even better. I'm pleased that we've managed to secure him again.
"The Board have been great and have backed me to the hilt. As I've said, I'm well over budget now but there's been no pressure on me and hopefully we will continue to reap the rewards."
Jevons was also delighted to extend the loan for a further month, as he explained:
"Both myself and the team have been doing well and i'm really enjoying it here," the 28-year old explained. "I'm just now starting to get 90 minutes under my belt and I want to get to that stage where I am capable of doing that week in' week out. The Gaffer wants me to stay for another month and as long as Bristol City are happy for me to stay, I am happy to stay too.
"It was an easy decision for me, as I'm closer to Liverpool and that's where all my family are based. It suits me brilliantly over Christmas!"
