WILLIAMS: "I CAN'T WAIT!"
htafc.com spoke to Robbie Williams ahead of his first appearance in a Town shirt today in the Pontin's Holidays League clash with West Bromwich Albion at the Galpharm Stadium, kick-off 2pm.
The former Barnsley man (pictured) joined Town in the August transfer window despite suffering a fractured shin in his last training session with the Tykes and he admitted that it was a big relief to finally be back playing.
"It's been a long time - probably about four months now," Robbie explained to the official website. "I just can't wait to get out there and prove what I can do. I'm aiming to get into the first-team as soon as possible.
"Lee and Adam (Town's physiotherapists) have been brilliant with me. We've been working 24/7 trying to get me fit and ensuring that my leg is ok and they've been great throughout."
The 23-year old also thanked manager Andy Ritchie for showing faith in him through a difficult period and told us that he can't wait to play with his new teammates.
"Obviously he was my Gaffer at Barnsley too and he's brought me here under difficult circumstances, so I'm grateful. I'm looking forward to playing under him again.
"They are a good set of lads here and I'm looking forward to working with them out on the pitch. I've really enjoyed training with them so far and it's all going well."
