Last night's opening goalscorer Danny Cadamarteri talked to htafc.com today about last night's excellent win over Hartlepool United at the Galpharm Stadium and the upcoming trip to Accrington Stanley in the first round of the FA Cup sponsored by E.ON.

"I'm very pleased that we got the result last night and to get on the score-sheet is a real bonus for any striker," the 28-year old explained.

"I think it was one of the best performances this season - definitely one of the most resilient. They had a little spell towards the end of the first-half where they put us under a bit of pressure but we defended really well. Our defending as a team has not been that brilliant in a few games this season but I thought we weathered that little bit of a storm very well before coming out strongly in the second-half."

The ex-Everton striker was quick to praise his strike partner Andy Booth's contribution last night, believing that the sheer presence of the striker contributed to his 12th-minute opener.

"Since Boothy has come into the side, the Gaffer has asked me to play off him. The Hartlepool centre-halves had really squeezed over on him as Frank crossed the ball as they were rightly worried about his aerial threat and I had taken up a position to collect one of his knock-downs. As the ball came in I realized I could get a nick on it and it went in at the far post.

"Boothy and Luke (Beckett) are very different to play with. Boothy is unbelievable in the air, he wins every single header whereas Luke is a little bit more mobile - although I don't know after a couple of Boothy's surges last night! At the end of the day they are both quality players and I like playing alongside either of them as it gives me that little bit more time on the ball."

Town now take a break from League action as they travel to the Fraser Eagle Stadium to face League Two side Accrington Stanley on Saturday in the FA Cup first round. The Cleckheaton-born frontman will be looking for his fourth goal of the season in the game and he firmly believes that the Terriers will progress to the next stage.

"We go to Accrington on Saturday and I think they will try to be compact and tight out of possession, as well as being quite physical. We'll have to make sure we weather the storm that they will probably bring early on to test us, but we can rely on our superior fitness levels and slightly better level of ability. If we manage to match them physically, it could be one-way traffic but we have to get the ball down and play."

Having recorded back-to-back wins in the League and now sitting just four points outside the Play-Offs, does Danny see the cup game as an inconvenient distraction from the League One campaign?

"When you get a couple of good results on the bounce in the League like we have, you could argue that the Cup is an unwelcome distraction but if we go to Accrington and get another good result, it adds momentum to that run. We're thinking positive; we're going to go there and work hard in order to get a good result."
