htafc.com got the first interview with new loan signing Ronnie Wallwork today after he completed his initial one month loan from West Bromwich Albion.

The 30-year old's move to the Galpharm Stadium came around quite quickly - something Ronnie confirmed.

"I found out late last night, when my agent called me and told me that Huddersfield were interested. I'm delighted to get the chance to come and play here.

"Basically, the manager at West Brom (Tony Mowbray) has informed me that I'm not in his plans. It's one of those things - a new manager likes to bring his own players in and we've spent a lot of money bringing in a few foreign lads, along with a couple of English players, but I'm delighted that I can come here and get a few games - and a few good wins.

"I don't know too much about Huddersfield; I know Danny Cadamarteri from my loan spell at Bradford last year and I know Frank Sinclair too, but there are quite a few good players here and I'm confident we can get a few wins.

"I'm really impressed with the setup here too - the stadium is great and I don't see a reason why we can't push for the Championship this season."

Town boss Andy Ritchie has made it very clear what he wants from Ronnie during his time with Town.

"The Gaffer has told me I will be playing in the holding midfield role; I can play in defence as well, but I feel that midfield is my best position.

"I'm here to help the lads out with their communication on the pitch, as I understand there are quite a few young lads here and hopefully that bit of experience I bring can help. I'm reasonably quiet off the pitch, but I do shout a bit on it!

"I'm looking forward to playing for Andy - obviously he's been there and done it playing for United and he knows his stuff. I'm looking forward to the challenge.

"If things go well, I don't see a reason why I wouldn't stay. It's a good club and I've been impressed with everything so far. I live in Manchester and it's just down the road, so that would be ok."
