Phil Marsh 339
Trialist Phil Marsh (pictured left) in action for the United first-team, battling with former Town loanee Andy Taylor earlier this season

Town will have a trialist in the starting eleven for tonight's final Pontin's Holidays League match of the season when they play at Valley Parade against Bradford City in a 7pm kick-off.

20-year old Manchester United Reserve-team player Phil Marsh will start up front with recent first-team debutant Lucas Akins at Valley Parade tonight against Bradford City as John Dungworth's young side hope to finish on a high.

Marsh has made one appearance for the United first-team - he played the first-half of the League Cup Third Round encounter between Crewe Alexandra and the Reds in October of this season. Phil will play up front alongside Akins, but he has also been deployed as a centre-back by Manchester United Reserve team manager Rene Meulensteen this season to good effect.

The Reserve team has a youthful look about it this evening, with only 5 of the players in the squad having first-team experience.

Keeper Simon Eastwood will line up behind the back four of Danny Racchi, Adam Wilson, skipper John McCombe and Daniel Codman. In midfield, wingers Alex Hallam and James Hand will flank the familiar central midfield partnership of James Berrett and Mitchell Bailey with Akins and trialist Marsh up front.
