Town under-16 striker Dave Heagney made his latest appearance for the Republic of Ireland under-16s yesterday evening (Tuesday) as he started in the 1-1 draw with Scotland in the Ballymena Tournament.

The draw sees the Republic sit joint top of the group with the USA on 4 points, with the draw coming on the back of a 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic on Monday evening - a game in which Heagney was not involved.

The young Town striker did not get on the score sheet himself and was substituted at half-time, but he will be hoping to be involved as the Republic face the USA tonight in the final group game at Inver Park in Larne, kick-off 7.30pm. If they beat their American counterparts they will be involved in the final that takes place on Friday evening.
