John McAliskey will be hoping to put the Owls defence to the sword this afternoon |
John Dungworth has selected a young Town Reserve side today for what looks like a stern test against an experienced Sheffield Wednesday side in today's Pontin's Holidays League match at the Galpharm Stadium, kick-off 2pm.
Only six of Town's starting eleven have appeared in a first-team shirt; Daniel Racchi, Captain John McCombe, James Berrett, Adnan Ahmed (pictured), John McAliskey and James Hand. The rest of the side is made up of Town's promising Academy side.
Simon Eastwood, Town's England under-18 goalkeeper, will be protected by a back four of Daniel Codman, John McCombe, Adam Wilson and Danny Racchi. Town then look likely to line up with four across midfield, with James Hand and Luke Malcher on the wings and Berrett and Ahmed in the centre. This would leave Lucas Akins and John McAliskey up front for Town, but it is possible that Malcher or Hand could move up front and leave Town with three in midfield.
This penultimate Reserve game of the season may well be one of the toughest for Town, as Wednesday come to the Galpharm with a strong looking side. Steve Adams, John Hills, Sean McAllister, Yoann Folly and Burton O'Brien all have lots of first-team experience and winger Rocky Lekaj was impressive in the first encounter between the two sides in February, when Town lost 3-1 at Hillsborough.
Admission today costs £3.50 for Adults, with concessions getting free entry into the ground, so why not come down at 2pm to see the next generation of Town stars?
