Lee Clark's Town side further strengthened their promotion hopes with a 2-1 win over struggling Swindon at the Galpharm Stadium. Following a goalless first half in which the Terriers had the majority of play, Town capitalised on their dominance with strikes from Michael Collins and Andy Butler before Simon Cox ensured a few nervy moments at the end of the game with a late consolation.
The Terriers, led by Man of the Match Gary Roberts, were too good for the Robins and fully deserved their three points in front of a brilliant Galpharm crowd - with the atmosphere bolstered by a sizeable number in the Pink Link Stand.
Town started the game in an orthodox 4-4-2 formation with 'keeper Smithies protected by a back four of Williams, Butler, Nathan Clarke and skipper Holdsworth. Roberts and Cadamarteri occupied the left and right wings either side of Collins and Goodwin in central midfield, leaving Parker and Jevons to lead the line.
Good skill from 'Jevo' and a clever through-ball set strike partner Parker away into the Swindon box in just the 4th minute of the game, but centre-back Ifil did well to push him wide of his goalkeeper's left-hand post and Brezovan easily collected the eventual shot from an acute angle.
Swindon replied with their first effort on goal a minute later, but Billy Paynter's shot was easily gathered in by Smithies at his near post.
Town pressed again and good work down the right from 'Cads' saw the speedy winger beat full-back Amankwaah before an eventual low pass into the box for Parker; he squared the ball back across goal, but Gary Roberts' eventual shot went straight into the hands of giant custodian Brezovan.
Good skill down the right from 'Robbo' in the 9th minute allowed him to breeze past defender Smith before he unleashed a wicked curling shot that Brezovan punched away and from his resulting corner, Robbie Williams missed the target with a flicked header when unmarked eight yards from goal.
The Terriers were all over the visitors from Wiltshire and had another effort in the 14th minute; Goodwin robbed Amankwaah of the ball on the edge of the box and seizing on the loose ball, Parker fired over from an acute angle.
Swindon had a decent spell around the 20 minute mark and Smithies had to be alert to push the ball away from Paynter after a Timlin corner.
Town soon struck back, with good hold-up play from Jevons releasing Roberts into space down the left; his low cross fell to Parker at the near post, whose clever spin and shot was neatly turned around the post by Brezovan. Andy Butler met the Roberts corner with a powerful header, but the ball struck Phil Jevons on the line before being cleared to safety.
The Robins survived a penalty appeal from Town in the 26th minute when Smith's challenge felled Parker in the left edge of the penalty area, with referee Gibbs instantly signalling that the defender won the ball before playing the man.
A fantastic dribble from winger Roberts - taking him a total of 40 yards up the pitch and past three Swindon players - ended with a clever pass into the feet of Parker on the edge of the box in the 33rd minute; he played the ball out to Cadamarteri on the right and from his low cross, Jevons was just beaten to the ball at the near post by the Swindon 'keeper.
More good play from Roberts three minutes later gave Jevons space on the left corner of the box to curl a great effort towards the near post which Brezovan did well to turn away at full stretch to his right side. A minute later Jevons picked up a poor clearance from defender Kanyuka before sending a 25-yard volley wide of the right-hand post.
Swindon had a rare effort on goal in the 40th minute; Cox and midfielder Pook played a quick one-two on the edge of Town's box, with the latter firing the ball way over the crossbar with his eventual shot.
A counter attack from the visiting team after a Town corner in the 43rd minute ended when Smithies did brilliantly to pounce on the ball ahead of striker Paynter.

Town started the second-half brightly in blustery conditions and created the first real chance of the second 45 minutes in the 50th minute. A clever reverse pass from Cadamarteri set the overlapping Holdsworth into space down the right flank and his excellent deep cross was nodded into the hands of Brezovan by Parker.
GOAL - It didn't matter, because Town took the lead in the 51st minute through Michael Collins' 6th goal of the season. The midfielder started the move, playing a raking pass out to Parker on the left flank; the striker waited before pulling the ball back to the edge of the box for the Ireland Under-21 international, who calmly looked up as several Swindon players closed him down and picked his spot perfectly - placing the ball out of the reach of the giant Brezovan and in off the near post.
Roberts was taunting right-back Jack Smith every time he got the ball and he tormented the defender with another mazy dribble in the 56th minute, eventually trying a right-foot curler from the edge of the box that the goalkeeper saved well.
Smith's long range free-kick took a wicked deflection off striker Simon Cox two minutes later, with goalkeeper Smithies scrambling across his goal as the ball went inches wide of his left-hand post.
Keigan Parker then cleverly turned inside defender Ifil in the 59th minute before unleashing a low left foot shot which Brezovan had to turn around the post - leading to Town's second goal of the game.
GOAL - Andy Butler notched his second goal in the famous Blue and White stripes in the 60th minute to double Town's advantage. A right wing corner from the impressive Roberts fell to Keigan Parker at the back post, who turned the ball back across goal for Cadamarteri; the right-winger sent a high ball to the back post, where the robust centre-back climbed highest to power the ball into the top corner with his head.
SUB - Swindon boss Danny Wilson made his first substitution in the 64th minute, with Jon-Paul McGovern replaced by Antony McNamee.
SENDING-OFF - For the second consecutive week, Town's opponents were reduced to ten men when Patrick Kanyuka received a straight red card in the 65th minute. Jim Goodwin robbed a Swindon midfielder of the ball in the centre-circle and played a clever one-two with Phil Jevons, with the striker's pass putting the Irishman through on goal. As Jim tried to race onto the ball, Kanyuka grabbed his shirt - leaving the referee with no choice but to dismiss the culprit.
Phil Jevons sent the resulting free-kick arrowing into the arms of Peter Brezovan.
SUB - Swindon made their second change in the 68th minute, with Blair Sturrock replacing Billy Paynter; this swap saw the visitors revert to a 4-4-1 formation.
Another good run and cross from Cadamarteri in the 72nd minute ended with Phil Jevons prodding the ball wide at the near post.
'Keeper Brezovan did well after misjudging a deep Cadamarteri cross a minute later, recovering sufficiently to deflect Phil Jevons' volley around the post. Nathan Clarke volleyed the resulting corner into the top tier of the Fantastic Media Stand.
SUB - Swindon made their final substitution in the 73rd minute, with Craig Easton replacing Michael Pook.
A Mexican waved encompassed the whole Stadium in the closing stages of the game with a party atmosphere around the Galpharm, which looked to have been added to with a third goal from Roberts on the stroke of 75 minutes - however, the lively winger had fouled defender Amankwaah to win the ball inside the Swindon penalty area.
Swindon went close to scoring in the 81st minute; substitute McNamee did well to find space to cross down the left and Sturrock got in front of Andy Butler to head the ball against the bar, with Cox volleying the rebound over the bar at full stretch.
SUB - Ian Craney was introduced to the game by Lee Clark in the same minute, replacing Keigan Parker. Craney moved to occupy the right wing position, with Cadamarteri joining Jevons in attack.
BOOKING - Substitute Craig Easton made an impact upon his introduction - fouling several Town players! Referee Gibbs had enough in the 85th minute and booked the midfielder after another push on Jim Goodwin.
Swindon striker Simon Cox blocked a powerful header from his own player, Jerel Ifil, from a late Michael Timlin corner before the visitors did score a late goal.
GOAL - Striker Simon Cox scored Swindon's late consolation - a late corner fell at the striker's feet on the edge of the box and he sent a deflected right-foot volley past a helpless Alex Smithies, with the ball deflecting off the right-hand post.
SUB - Lee Clark made an added time change, replacing Phil Jevons with Michael Flynn, as Town saw the game out successfully.
