The Terriers came from behind to earn a well earned point in an entertaining clash at the Galpharm Stadium this afternoon. Abbott notched his twelfth of the season in emphatic style to cancel out Sam Sodje scrambled opener.
The Terriers had the better of a tetchy opening five minutes and it was Schofield who rifled in the first effort on target. After Worthington fed him he ball from a set piece and the former Brodsworth man's effort was easily held by keeper Nelson.
Town had a great opportunity to open the scoring on eight minutes after a Clarke thunderbolt from outside the area was only half-saved by Nelson and just as it looked as though Mendes was going to open the scoring to everyone at the Galpharm, bar the referee, it seemed Nelson pulled off a superb save. Referee Boyeson infuriated the Town faithful and awarded the visitors a dead-ball.
Seconds later Jacko's men were questioning the man in black yet again as it appeared that Schofield's shot struck the arm of a Bees defender, but the referee waved play-on. As Carss tracked back he was adjudged to have fouled Tabb and the Town man received the first caution of the game.
Referee Boyeson did not have long to wait to even up the yellow card count this time booking the visiting skipper Talbot for a rash challenge on Holdsworth.
On the quarter of an hour mark Town's top scorer Pawel Abbott almost broke the bar with an absolute bullet. He cleverly lifted the ball over his shoulder in the area, leaving two defender watching space, before hitting a vicious volley onto the bar from 6 yards.
On 20 minutes the visitors had the ball in the back of the net through ex-Derby man Deon Burton. Fortunately for the Terriers, Burton and been flagged offside from the free-kick.
Rachubka repaid Jacko's faith on 35 minutes with a superb save from ex-England man John Salako. The assistant referee ignored Town's appeals for an off-side flag and Salako advanced unchallenged to the edge of the Town area. Rachubka made himself big and then got down well to deny the visitors and opener.
Town vociferous appeals for a penalty turned down on 42 minutes after a superb Holdsworth cross appeared to strike the hand of Sam Sodje. Town's hand-ball claims were waved away for a second time by Boyeson.

Within a minute of the restart referee Boyeson was involved again, or rather wasn't when he did not even speak to Burton after it appeared the visiting striker had struck Yates with an elbow. Town were awarded a free-kick but no further action was taken.
The visitors made their first change of the afternoon on 51 minutes replacing Talbot with ex-Bradford man Jamie Lawrence.
On 53 minutes Burton found his way into referee Boyeson's book for deliberately cropping Holdsworth.
Rachubka pulled off another superb save on 55 minutes this time from an acrobatic Sam Sodje effort which he managed to push round his right-hand post.
The visitors took the lead in controversial fashion on 61 minutes after referee Boyeson continued to flummox the Galpharm crowd by awarding a drop ball on the edge of the Town area. From the resulting melee Sam Sodje, brother of Efe and Akpo, scrambled the ball home.
T0wn carved open a good chance on 64 minutes when Mendes Holdsworth and Abbott linked well down the right with the latter shooting wide of Nelson's left-hand post.
If that was a good opening, Town had a better one moments later after Sodje failed t shepherd the ball behind and was robbed by Abbott. The Pole cut the ball for Mendes who failed to beat Nelson.
Jacko immediately made his first change of the afternoon replacing defender Yates with striker McAliskey and switched t0 4-4-2 with Mendes on the right.
Town were level on 70 minutes when Sodje again failed to shepherd the ball out by the touchline and this time Schofield was the beneficiary. The Town man advanced to the by-line before crossing for Abbott at the far post, Town's top-scorer making no mistake spanking the ball in off the cross bar.
Town continued on the offensive and Andy Holdsworth was unlucky to see his rasping 35 yard drive flash the wrong side of Nelson's upright.
Jacko made his second change of the afternoon on 83 minutes when he replaced Chris Brandon with Lee Fowler.
Brentford made their second change on the stroke of full time when Harrold replaced Tabb.
McAliskey almost completed the come-back in added time when he just failed to convert Holdsworth's cross under pressure from O'Connor.
