ROBERTS SCOOPS BWF PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Posted on: Wed 28 Apr 2010

Town winger Gary Roberts has scooped the Blue & White Foundation's Player of the Season for 2009/10.

The former Ipswich Town man fought off stiff competition from centre-back Peter Clarke and full-back Lee Peltier to land the accolade, which marks an impressive season for the Terriers no.7. In the end, he won the award by one single vote!

'Robbo' has found the target on eight occasions and he has notched up a respectable 14 assists this term. Interestingly, Town have not lost a game when he has scored this season while six of his goals have come when Lee Clark's men have scored four or more goals in a game.

Mr. Nigel Taylor from Lindley claimed a prize of four White Rose Club tickets and a meal ahead of the Colchester United game this Saturday after being drawn out from the many Blue and White Foundation members that voted for Gary.

'Robbo' won the Hargreaves Memorial Trophy as the Club's Player of the Season during his first season at the Club in 2008/09 and he takes the BWF accolade from Nathan Clarke, who won it last term.

Remember, the Club's Annual Awards Ceremony takes place on Saturday following the Colchester United game - for more information, call the Commercial Department on 01484 484140, email commercial@htafc.com or visit www.htafccommercial.com!
