Gerry Beamond is the lucky winner of a massive £20,000 at the Blue and White Foundation's year six draw, held at the Galpharm Stadium this evening.

The shocked winner told the onlookers that the prize has come at a perfect time - his daughter is due to get married in a few weeks time!

Last year's winner, Danny Mozley of Linthwaite, was among the 150 members in attendance in the English Partnership suite at the Galpharm Stadium to watch the live draw, as well as band Chicago Joe and the Soul Divas.

All money generated through the Foundation's £2 a week membership goes directly to the Club's successful youth Academy, with members receiving benefits such as access to exclusive events and high priority on away match tickets.

Town's Commercial Director Sean Jarvis was the compere for the evening whereas Nathan Clarke, Michael Collins, Tom Clarke, Joe Skarz and Alex Smithies were the guests of honour - all players that have graduated from the Club's Academy to the first team.

The Blue and White Foundation will now embark upon its 7^th year, with another £20,000 prize to be given away next November! Sign up to the Foundation for 12 months now and you will receive an limited edition training top, as modelled by striker Theo Robinson below; the first team will be sporting these ahead of this Saturday's game against Hartlepool United, kick-off 3pm, as the Club plays homage to its successful Academy.
