'NEGOTIATIONS THROUGH THE PAPERS ARE NOT OUR WAY OF DOING BUSINESS'

Posted on: Fri 20 Jan 2012

Huddersfield Town Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens has responded to today's press reports of a new offer from Ken Davy for the KSDL shares made in the Huddersfield Examiner.

Clibbens commented:

"I can confirm the Club and Dean Hoyle have had no contact from Mr Davy since 23 December 2011 or any offer. We won't comment on the specifics of the press report.

"However, it is certainly unusual to seek to reach an agreement through offers made in the local paper. It's not something I have ever come across before and it is certainly not something we will get involved in. Negotiating through the papers is not the way we do business here or likely to help get a resolution.

"We fully support and are committed to Council Leader Mehboob Khan's approach to settling the share issue as he outlined on Wednesday (click HERE to find out more). Coming so soon after the Council outlined the way forward, the report in the paper this morning is surprising."
