Huddersfield Town Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens has moved to dismiss media reports linking the Club with free agent Marlon Harewood.
This morning's newspapers reported that the Terriers had been competing with Premier League side Blackpool when it came to wages for the 30-year old former Aston Villa forward, but Clibbens told htafc.com that such reports were total nonsense:
"I was very surprised to see that we were linked with Marlon Harewood in the press this morning. He has never been a target.
"Regardless of that fact, some of the figures Huddersfield Town is reported as being willing to pay are totally ridiculous. Normally we don't give speculation a second thought, but reports like this bring our club and what we are trying to do here into disrepute.
"Throwing our name into articles seems routine and I suppose we should be flattered; however, in most cases - just like this - it is absolute nonsense."
