Huddersfield Town Chairman Dean Hoyle has received another accolade for his work as head of Card Factory.

The booming greeting card retail chain has been named in the Sunday Times 'Top Track 250', which lists Britain's biggest private companies.

Card Factory rank at 238th in the list with sales of £157 million in the year ended 31 January 2008. However, when looking at operating profit, Card Factory jumps into the top 50 most profitable private mid-sized companies in the UK.

The results cover the period before Card Factory acquired around 80 extra shops from failed rival Card Warehouse which was forced to close 200 others. Since then, another Card Factory rival, the Birthdays chain - owned by Clintons - has also collapsed with 332 shops affected. Clintons then bought back around 200.

Based in Wakefield, Hoyle's business was founded in 1997 and now has around 480 stores across the UK employing over 4,500 people.

Dean was typically low key in his assessment of his business success:

"The business headlines remind me of how strikers must feel in a football team. You get all the headlines, but in reality it is all down to the team that you are part of and the hard work and effort everyone puts in. It is the same for me at Card Factory - it is a great team effort."

This is the latest headline news for Dean recently, following closely on from him being awarded with the title of 'UK Retail and consumer products Entrepreneur of the year' at the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards held in London - the equivalent of the business Oscars.

Dean joined Huddersfield Town as Chairman Elect back in April 2008 before taking over Chairmanship at the conclusion of the 08/09 campaign. Since then, alongside new Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens and the rest of the Board of Directors, he has ushered in a New Era at the Club - which has seen a significant investment made both on and off the field.
