Yorkshire Building Society has confirmed it will continue its investment in the local community by renewing its sponsorship of the Sporting Pride 7's Scheme for a second year.
The 7's Scheme is an initiative that is designed to attract a new generation of fans to Huddersfield Town and the Huddersfield Giants. During its first year of sponsorship Yorkshire Building Society's investment has seen the initiative reach more youngsters in the local area, with over 1,000 children getting involved in the last year - the biggest increase since the scheme was started in 2004.
Yorkshire Building Society's commitment to community projects is further illustrated by the Terriers Account, now in its tenth year, which gives a cash equivalent to1% of the account balances to Huddersfield Town's Youth Development Academy.
Iain Cornish, Chief Executive of Yorkshire Building Society said, "The Society very much enjoys its long standing partnership with Huddersfield Town. I'm delighted that we will be involved in the 7's Scheme for another year as it is s a great way of encouraging youngsters to support their local teams.
"Since the launch of the Terriers Savings Account 10 years ago, over £800,000 has been paid to Town's Youth Development Academy. We hope that our renewed involvement with the 7's scheme will continue to boost this account as well as our relationship with the Galpharm Stadium and its fans."

Huddersfield Town Director of Business Development, Sean Jarvis, expressed his continuing thanks towards the Yorkshire, "Everyone at Huddersfield Town would like to thank Yorkshire Building Society for its continuing support of the Club.
"The main affinity partnership between Yorkshire Building Society and Huddersfield Town was the most successful in the Club's history, both in financial terms and in terms of a working relationship. It's great that Yorkshire Building Society has decided to extend its relationship with the Club through the 7's scheme for a second year, whilst continuing to provide the Terriers Savings Account.
"I would urge fans to continue to support the hugely successful Youth Academy through the Terriers Savings Account. The contribution of the account cannot be underestimated and with fifteen of our current first-team squad members coming through the Academy it is vital to our future success that the youth set-up continues to flourish.
"We are delighted that Yorkshire Building Society is still an integral part of the Huddersfield Town family."
