SUCCESS OF 7'S SCHEME BENEFITS TICKET DRIVE

Posted on: Tue 23 Sep 2008

The Sporting Pride 7's Scheme will be more important than ever this month as Yorkshire Building Society and Huddersfield Town try to attract the next generation of supporters to the Galpharm Stadium for the 2008/09 season.

Since the start of the 2007/08 season over 600 children have signed up to the 7's scheme and with season tickets for supporters under 8 years old free of charge for the upcoming season, the Club is hoping to have plenty of new fans on board!

More and more young supporters are being introduced to the Club through the 7's scheme and one knock-on effect is that their families can also take advantage of the great pricing. Adults can watch all 23 home games from just £100, with Mini Terrier Tickets starting from just £23!

The 7's Scheme is one of the key elements of the new 'Fans of the Future' initiative, aimed at attracting the next generation of supporters for both Huddersfield Town and the Huddersfield Giants. Over 3,000 children have passed through the scheme since its birth, with pupils of (local schools) among the most recent to register.

The scheme has been an undeniable success this season and was a major factor behind Huddersfield Town being awarded the League One 'Family Club of the Year' award for 2008.

The Football League actually cited Yorkshire Building Society's support of the 'Fans of the Future' initiative as a major contributor behind the Terriers grabbing the accolade.

As one of the best-known and community-focused companies in the area, Yorkshire Building Society is delighted to back the scheme that is now reaching a wider audience than ever before. The scheme is aimed at 7-year olds throughout the local area, who receive both Huddersfield Town and Huddersfield Giants replica shirts along with match tickets around their birthday.

After two years as the main affinity partner of Huddersfield Town, Yorkshire Building Society has continued investing in the future of the Club with the continuation of the Terriers Savings Account and the new sponsorship of the 7's Scheme.

Huddersfield Town Director of Business Development, Sean Jarvis, expressed his continuing thanks towards YBS, "The new Fans of the Future initiative is key to the long-term success of Huddersfield Town and the Huddersfield Giants and it's been great to see the 7's Scheme - one of the most important elements of the initiative - growing so rapidly since the start of the football season.

"We are delighted that Yorkshire Building Society is still an integral part of the Galpharm Stadium family."
