Love is in the air with Valentine's Day and Huddersfield Town and Huddersfield Giants are hoping to build a few 'relationships to last a lifetime' with the Sporting Pride 7's Scheme, sponsored by Yorkshire Building Society!
The most recent presentation took place at the Huddersfield Giants' season opener against Leeds Rhinos on February 10th, where over 60 children met with Giants players Richard Lopag and Sam Barlow as well as Town's Andy Holdsworth to get their free shirts and tickets and commit themselves to a future of supporting two premier sporting clubs in Huddersfield - the Huddersfield Giants and Huddersfield Town Football Club.
The 7's Scheme is one of the key elements of the new 'Fans of the Future' initiative, aimed at attracting the next generation of supporters for both Huddersfield Town and the Huddersfield Giants. As one of the best-known and community-focused companies in the area, Yorkshire Building Society are delighted to back the scheme that is now reaching a wider audience than ever before. The scheme is aimed at children throughout the local area, who receive both Huddersfield Town and Huddersfield Giants replica shirts along with match tickets around their 7th birthday.
After two years as the main affinity partner of Huddersfield Town, Yorkshire Building Society has continued investing in the future of the two clubs with the continuation of the Terriers Savings Account and the new sponsorship of the 7's Scheme.
Huddersfield Town and Huddersfield Giants Director of Business Development, Sean Jarvis, expressed his continuing thanks towards YBS, "The new Fans of the Future initiative is key to the long-term success of Huddersfield Town and the Huddersfield Giants and the start of the Super League season has only added impetuous to this ever-popular scheme, which has gone from strength-to-strength since the start of the new relationship with Yorkshire Building Society back in August."
Since the start of the current football season, 683 children have registered with the scheme - taking the number to over 2,750 since its birth in 2004.
"We are delighted that Yorkshire Building Society is still an integral part of the Galpharm Stadium family."
