Geoff Hutt will be the Town's 1908 Club ambassador on matchdays during the Centenary season.

70s legend Hutt will be meeting and greeting corporate guests and sponsors and will act as liaison between the 1908 Club's members and the Club.

Left back Hutt was part of one of Town's greatest post-war defences when, in 1970, he helped the Club into the top flight under Ian Greaves. His teammates included the likes of Roy Ellam, Trevor Cherry and Frank Worthington and after years of supporting Town from the stands will again become part of the matchday experience, this time in the corporate areas.

"It's a fitting appointment, particularly in our Centenary season," said Town's Director of Business Development Sean Jarvis.

"He was well liked as a player and still has many friends at the Club after years of coming to the Galpharm and Leeds Road as a supporter."

Hutt said: "I was approached by Sean Jarvis at a recent supporters meeting up at the Grange, which was a really good evening, and he told me that he had a role in mind for me at the Club. After a subsequent meeting, he has asked me to be the ambassador for the 1908 Club.

"Basically, I'm just going to be going around talking to people about the game and football in general - a bit like I normally do on a matchday!

"I'm delighted to be performing this role, as Huddersfield Town is a massive part of my life. I spent 15 years down at the old ground and I'll do anything for the Club. It really is a dream come true to be involved with the Centenary season - I'm very honoured. I can't wait for the new season to begin!"
