TEN PLAYERS SIGN TWO YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS

The Huddersfield Town Academy will take on ten new scholars for the 2010/11 season.

The ten young players will all make the step up from the under-16 side to embark on the first year of their two-year scholarships at the start of next season, which includes a thorough educational programme.

A brief description of the new first-year scholars is below:

Lloyd Allinson

Date of Birth: 07/09/1993

As an under-16 player, he has already made 27 appearances for Graham Mitchell's under-18 side this season and made his reserve team debut during the 3-1 home win over Leeds United on March 3rd. Formerly with Rothwell Town juniors, the Leeds-based goalkeeper joined the Club seven years ago.

Harrison Blakey

Date of Birth: 22/09/1993

A Liversedge-based centre-back, Harrison joined the Club from the Leeds United Academy at the start of 2010andmade his debut for the under-18 side as a half-time substitute during the FA Premier Academy League game against Derby County at Storthes Hall on March 23rd.

James Burke

Date of Birth: 16/04/1994

James is a centre-half by trade and has been with Town since August 2008after joining from local side Lepton. Based in Shepley, he has already made three starts for the under-18 side, with a further two appearances as a substitute.

Warrick Charlton

Date of Birth: 11/05/1994

Warrick signs his scholarship having already made three appearances for the under-18 side this season. A centre forward by trade, he can also play in advanced wide positions; he also joined Town from Leeds United's Academy around two months ago.

Matt Crooks

Date of Birth: 20/01/1994

A tall central midfielder, Matt moved back to the Town Academy following a five year spell at Manchester United in April 2008 and completed the last two seasons with the under-15 and under-16 sides.

Matt has been a regular feature for the under-18s in the 2009/10 campaign, scoring two goals in 12 appearances.

Dominic Dickinson

Date of Birth: 19/10/1993

Dominic is a tall, Leeds-based centre-back who has been with the Town Academy for the last seven years and has captained at several levels. He has made six starts for Graham Mitchell's under-18 side already.

Max Leonard

Date of Birth: 04/07/1994

Hailing from Longwood in Huddersfield, Max is a striker who has been with the Academy throughout every age group - from under-9s upwards. Formerly a player for Westend juniors, he has made three starts for the under-18s this season along with a further four substitute appearances.

David Melling

Date of Birth: 23/12/1993

Dave is a winger who can also play as a forward; formerly with local side Wyke Wanderers, he has been at the Town Academy for eight seasons now. He made his debut for the under-18s as a substitute at Sheffield Wednesday back on November and recently made his first start against Sunderland in late April.

Jordan Sinnott

Date of Birth: 14/02/1994

Jordan is a holding central midfield player who has played 13 times for the under-18s this term - scoring his first goal against Derby County in the FA Premier Academy League in March. He has been with Town since the start of his under-15 season.

Josh Windass

Date of Birth: 09/01/1994

Josh is a versatile player who can play across midfield or as a forward. He made his under-18 debut against Sunderland at Storthes Hall on April 21st and has been with the Town Academy since the start of the under-9 season.

The Academy will take a further three players on as schoolboys, meaning they will be eligible to play in the under-18s whilst continuing with their studies away from the Club. Midfielders James Nanje-Ngoe, Israel Johnson and striker Hatib Cham will continue into the next season.

These players will join existing players Adam Field, Greg Pearson, Aidan D'Arcy, Adam Colton, Michael McCaffery and Shane Birtles, who will start the second years of the scholarships.
