Posted on: Thu 18 Mar 2010

Huddersfield Town is delighted to announce that Aidan D'Arcy has signed scholarship forms with the Club's Academy.

The 17-year old Australian left-back, who is pictured third from the left on the front row, played four games for Graham Mitchell's under-18 side during an extended trial during November and December 2009 and has now signed forms with the Club, meaning he will complete his first year this season before embarking upon the second year of his scholarship next term.

Born on August 31st 1992, Aidan is 5' 10" tall and can also play on the left hand side of midfield. Formerly a player for the youth team of New South Wales Premier League side Manly United, the Aussie first came to Town's attention during a tour of England back in 2007.

"Aidan has been on trial with us for the best part of five months now and signing him up has been quite a drawn-out process due to the nature of gaining international clearance, but we have finally managed to complete the formalities," Academy Manager Graham Mitchell told htafc.com.

"He first came to our attention during Manly's tour of England back in 2007, but his father has recently moved to England for work reasons and that gave us the opportunity to offer him a trial.

"He has done very well during his trial period and now we have given him the opportunity to become a professional at Huddersfield Town if he makes the grade."
